CV – MICHAEL TERCEIRO

Work

Prior to 2008, Michael Terceiro worked at the ACCC for a period of 15 years. During this time, he worked as:

• the Director (in charge) of the Sydney Mergers and Asset Sales Branch.
• the National GST Enforcement Coordinator.
• a Director of Enforcement and Compliance in the New South Wales Regional Office.
• Director (in charge) of the ACCC's Waterfront Team during the Waterfront Dispute.

During Michael's 15 years at the ACCC, he ran and managed more than 600 separate investigations, including more than 100 merger clearances. Michael also ran 30 court cases while he was at the ACCC, with a success rate of over 90%.

Education

Michael graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Theory and a Bachelor of Laws with Second Class Honours.

Michael also completed a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney, majoring in competition and consumer law.

Professional memberships and committee work

Michael has been a member of the Competition and Consumer Law Committee of the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia since 2008.

Michael was has also been a member of the NSW Law Society since 1998 and a member of the New South Wales Law Society's Business Law Committee in 2009 and 2010.

Mock Trial

Michael has been a Mock Trial Coach in the New South Wales Law Society's Inter-School Mock Trial Competition. Michael coached the Auburn Girl's High School in 2009 and Rooty Hill High School in 2010 and 2011.
